Key learning outcomes:
Students completing required courses for the Bachelor Degree of Piano Accompanist - Repetiteur will have acquired the technical ability and specific competences that will allow them to fully express their interpretative personality. To meet this goal, students will closely study piano accompaniment methods and techniques and the accompaniment of vocal music; students will acquire professional sight‐reading, conducting, and basso continuo skills. Professional competency will be reached through the completion of internships. Aural training through the acquisition of specific knowledge related to the organizational, compositional and historical‐analytical concepts of music, and their interaction, will also be studied. Upon completion of the Bachelor Degree, students will have attained in‐depth knowledge of the professional, executive and stylistic aspects related to their specific area. In addition, they will possess adequate skills in the use of computer technology for music. The ability to use a second European Union language will also be obtained.

Admission requirements:
To apply for a Bachelor’s degree it is necessary to hold a secondary school leaving certificate (EQF level 4).
Students holding a secondary school certificate issued by foreign secondary schools can be admitted to the entrance examination if their qualifications meet the following general requirements:
- they have been issued by a secondary school institution which is officially recognised by the national education system;
- they are valid for admission examinations at University in the country where they have been issued;
- they have been issued after at least 12 years of studies, including primary and secondary school.
Admittance will be based on the entrance exam results.
All subjects are taught in Italian. For non-Italian native speakers, it is highly recommended to hold a B1 level certificate in Italian language (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages). Any applicants who do not yet have any Italian language certificates at the time of enrolment can take a placement test at the Rovigo Conservatoire in order to ascertain their skills. Language tutoring is guaranteed during the academic year.
Qualification requirements and regulations: this course is based on the ECTS credit accumulation system. The student must complete the curriculum as described in the Course structure. This includes compulsory and elective subjects and other activities for a total of 180 ECTS credits.
Final exam: the final exam consists of a performance, and of the writing and the discussion of an essay based on the student's major subject.
Examination regulations and grading scale:
The Italian grading system is based on a scale of 0-30, with 18/30 as the lowest passing grade. 30/30 cum laude may also be awarded. The final grade is based on a scale of 0-110, with 66/110 as the lowest passing grade. To the highest grade of 110/110, cum laude may be added, but only with the unanimous decision of the examining board.
Rovigo Conservatoire publish on its website an ECTS Grading Table which shows the actual distribution of examination and final grades among students of each degree programme, in order to facilitate comparison with other grading systems.
Occupational profiles of graduates: This course provides career opportunities in the following fields: piano accompanist for opera and vocal chamber music; piano accompanist for instrumental repertoire; piano accompanist and stage assistent in opera houses.
Access to further studies: Graduates holding a Bachelor’s Degree are eligible to apply to a Master’s Degree.
